My Fellow retreaters

I’m currently lucky enough to be on a Pilates and meditation retreat in Spain. I’ve slept really well so far but, tonight, I had trouble sleeping so wrote a poem about the gorgeous people I’m on retreat with. Here it is ❤️❤️❤️

Maggie Kay is my roommate, her Pat makes her whole
An avid moon dancer with a unicorn soul
She lives down in Saltash, her place is so pretty
She’s kind and intuitive, sensitive and witty
Andrea’s fabulous she’s a healer with oils
Crystals and wisdom are just some of her spoils
She glides so serenely in kaftan so pretty
Her gifts well received by both humans and kitty
Adele is our leader but more like a mother
Her gifts make us gorgeous but she never does smother
She thinks she’s not perfect and wants to be better
But she’s imperfectly perfect and we all simply get her
Katie’s our chef serving food we adore
She’s elfin and gorgeous with a soft gooey core
Hit yoga sounds super and we’d love to take part
All she does sounds authentic, straight from her heart
Dave is our toy boy, a serial traveller
He’s a mischief creator and sometimes  unravellor
His bloodhound companions are constantly there
He’s suntanned and handsome with all of his hair
Karen glides serenely, she’s a compassionate girl
She’s looking for something, for her role to unfurl
She’s an elegant lady with intelligent charm

Therapeutically gorgeous she’d never do harm

Sandra’s a lady who’s been through a lot
But she isn’t  defeated, so much courage she’s got
She’s been on a journey with Adele by her side
And her beautiful soul, no longer needs hide
Kate is a doctor with so much to give
But she doesn’t quite see it, I wish she’d just live
To her fullest potential it’s all just so near
She needs to surrender there’s no need to fear
Jo is so giving always on the alert
For someone who needs her, anyone hurt
But she needs to self care more, I’m so glad she’s here
And I hope equine wishes come true by next year
Suzi is grateful for all that she’s learned
Will treasure the friendships and memories earned
With colour and poems she hopes she gave love
Wishing our futures bring peace like a dove
Luna the kitten joins in in our fun
A joy to behold as she scampers and runs
We’ll even forgive her for munching a hat
She knows nothing better she’s simply a cat
Mittens is larger as fur babies go
But you’d never believe it when Luna’s in flow
She stopped me from writing my fairy book see
But healing warm cuddles were special for me
Sarah’s the walker with a fabulous smile
She joins in the fun and helps all the while
She’s so very gorgeous with qualities many
I think she’d quite simply give out her last penny
Sandra’s a grandma, wise and so warm
She’s generous and funny, and lights up our dorm
Her family are precious, held close to her heart
Her personality won over right from the start
Susannah loves animals she’s so much to do
She even got married right there in the zoo
She’s hard working and helpful with so much to give
She’s working to help, many troubled souls live
Namaste everyone 🙏

I started writing as a child but was encouraged to look elsewhere for my career and "get a proper job". I then became a nurse and have only recently returned to writing. I've recently published my first book which you can check out here I live in a beautiful part of Devon, close to a canal where I love to go to write. I have a three legged Burmilla cat called Nala and love anything that brings a little more magic into the world. I developed OCD, Anxiety & Depression, back in 2007 which led to me having to retire from my nursing career and reinvent myself. I am passionate about helping people accept that debilitating mental health problems are just as valid as physical disabilities. And I want to help others who have these conditions to discover their own version of life magic. I am also a part time wheelchair user because of some chronic back conditions.
