Suzi Magic

I loved writing as a child but lost that joy sometime over the intervening years. I've recently discovered it again and have just published my first book "In The Brambles" (which is all about my personal experiences of OCD, Anxiety & Depression. It details my journey through my mental health problems to the much happier place I currently occupy and contains some of my poetry about those conditions. (www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XC8KLC5) I wrote it in the hope that it would help both fellow sufferers and their loved ones. Love and pixie dust. Suzi x

An inspirational Lady

My family and I said a final farewell to my Mother-In-Law, Ginette French, last week. The humanist celebrant, Alison Orchard composed a fabulous story about her life which was read out at the service we held to celebrate her life. It would be a shame if only the few people who attended the service gotContinue reading “An inspirational Lady”

Self Care is Important

I’ve recently returned from a week long retreat in Spain where I met an inspirational group of like minded people. We mediated, did Pilates and sat round the pool chatting about lots of different topics. The villa we were staying at was stunning and had lots of sunny and shady spots to find time toContinue reading “Self Care is Important”

Believe in Yourself

Today I had a chat with someone who has a superpower. His superpower is that he can chat with someone for only 10 minutes and empower them to fix any problem by the end of the call. The problem I shared with him started in my childhood. I can’t remember when I first picked upContinue reading “Believe in Yourself”

Looking Back

Have recently discovered Haiku poetry and am starting to use it a lot. Here’s just one of the poems I’ve created. Today is National As Young as you feel day and this poem is based on my childhood memories of holidays in Dawlish, Devon. I only have to smell that seaside smell to be transportedContinue reading “Looking Back”

Living Life

I’m getting back to a good place just now after suffering from a bout of depression and wrote this poem this morning as an expression of where I am now and some of the ways I used to get myself here. We only have one life to live So live it large, play and giveContinue reading “Living Life”

Depression

I wrote this poem a few weeks back when I was stuck in a bout of depression. I didn’t want to share it at that time because I didn’t want any contact with the world and thought people would reach out to me and want to help. Anyone who has experienced real depression where nothingContinue reading “Depression”

Fighting Back

I’ve been suffering with labyrynthitis and a sinus infection for over 5 weeks now and, unfortunately, it’s seen some of my depression and anxiety symptoms return as a result of being cooped up indoors with nothing to stop me overthinking “stuff”. My normal coping stategies are my writing (but my eyesight hasn’t been good enoughContinue reading “Fighting Back”

Free Help Available

In the last few weeks I have learnt that someone whom I thought was happy, bubbly, outgoing and inspirational had committed suicide. He was a very successful business man and had made plenty of money during his life. He leaves behind family, friends and clients who are left feeling that this is such a wasteContinue reading “Free Help Available”
